Mitchell Graf is a dedicated hunter, competitive shooter, and firearms enthusiast. As a former instructor and president of Oklahoma State’s Practical Shooting Team, he has a strong foundation in marksmanship and competition shooting. These days, he spends as much time as possible chasing pigs and coyotes with night vision and thermal optics.

When he’s not in the field or on the range, Mitchell works as a full-time Mechanical Engineer in the Aerospace and Defense industry and manages a part-time farming operation. Whether he’s behind a rifle, designing parts, or working the land, his drive for precision and performance remains the same.

As one who switches between day and night optics often, quick detach or QD mounts have been an excellent tool in my toolbox. While QD mounts were always convenient, many people worry about what accuracy they may be sacrificing by not utilizing a fixed mount. With all the rage for AR pistols these days, there have been a handful of models of pistol braces that have risen through the ranks to make their claim to fame. Looking for something unique and lightweight, I stumbled upon the Gear Head Works Tailhook MOD 1. Weighing in at 4.5 oz and being less than an inch thick, this ATF-approved brace definitely fit the bill. Thin, lightweight, foldable, and comfortable enough to be shouldered? Count me in!
