New programs that focus on identifying potential shooters and intervening before they commit a crime have proven to be remarkably effective at reducing violence.

The Trace—an “independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan news organization” funded by the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund (ha!)—ran an article this week linking the prevalence of 9mm and .45 caliber handguns to a supposed rise in firearm lethality.

Four men broke into her home last Thursday, and two of them found her in her bedroom. There they hit her in the head with a gun and tried to tie her up.

“The HPA will absolutely make the market explode,” he said. “I would expect that once the HPA passes you’ll see a spike in demand nearly overnight.”

Facts are inconvenient things. They get in the way of agendas, especially when those agendas don’t have much basis in reality.

As others have noted, anti-gun rhetoric from Hollywood represents the height of hypocrisy. The same celebrities and producers who speak out against guns portray guns favorably in their movies and make millions of dollars in the process.

As the old saying goes, better late than never.

Let’s be honest. Gun owners got the only Christmas present they really needed on November 9 when Hillary Clinton gave her concession speech. Donald Trump’s victory likely saves us from another two years of ammo shortages and, more importantly, another four years of “assault weapon” ban threats. Still, AR-15s have been on my mind ever since the primaries.
