Jeff’s Five Favorite Targets

With so many different types of rifle and pistol shooting it can be a real challenge to pick the best targets for your money to take to the range. However, after 30 years of shooting these are my top five picks for getting in some great practice, and they can be used for rifle or pistol.

I had handled Canik pistols a couple of years ago at the SHOT show and have a couple of friends that shoot them but was a bit skeptical of how the Century Arms imports were going to perform; after all, they have an MSRP below $325, how good of a gun should you expect at that price point?

The Ultimate Valkyrie AR Build

The Ultimate Valkyrie AR Build

One persons “ultimate” very well may not be another’s, but I think this build should spark more than a little interest. The greatest drawback to trying to do an ultimate build is that ultimate will probably cost more than many are willing to spend at one time on an AR, but that’s the beauty of an AR platform, all the upgrades can be done one at a time due to the modularity of AR parts.

Sig responded to the customer’s needs by releasing the MPX PCC in November 2018 with upgrades to make their platform competition ready directly from the factory. It’s only natural; hunting is in our genes. Being the best is in our DNA. The evolutionary drive that the spoils go to the winner is built in our cells. So it only makes sense that when shooters and hunters are exposed to a shooting sport that mimics hunting wild game, we embrace it and use it as the yardstick to measure our skills.

Steyr obviously listened and took action to shooter inputs on their The L9- A1 pistol and the result is an upgraded A2 MF. The changes made on the A2 MF take Steyr’s 9mm to the next level. The A2 MF still has the low bore axis and comfortable feel of the old model but now [...]
