While Dan Wesson might have earned its reputation for radical revolver designs, it in recent years has developed a solid line of high-quality 1911 pistols. So what do you do when you have a product name known for high quality and demanding standards? Well, if you are CZ-USA, you double down on that quality and expand the line.

We are seeing some serious innovation in the firearms market, which is a nice change. LEt’s take a look at some of the emerging trends we are seeing today.

The CZ P-10 C, which is quite a lot to spit out, is the latest foray of CZ into the polymer frame market. We haven’t seen a striker-fired CZ in quite sometime, and it looks like the Czech engineers spent that time in the lab though, turning out a very good pistol for the US market.

What’s the difference then between Gen4 and Gen4 MOS pistols? Also, what does MOS mean? Glad you asked. MOS stands for Modular Optics System, which in five dollar words means you can put a red dot sight on it.

The X Rail crew are some old friends, and I was happy to catch up with them at SHOT Show. The original X Rail changed the way people thought about shotguns for competitive ventures, and the became the go-to, must-have shotgun add-on for open class shooters. Essentially a rotating drum magazine that goes on the end of your shotgun, it upped capacity to 22+1 with 2¾-inch shells. Mark told me he also made a special run of 3½-inch shell models for the local goose hunting crowd.
