Assemblywoman: ‘You can’t get the semiautomatic ammunition in California’

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Authors, Current Events, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

California Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is demanding the U.S. Senate “do something” to end gun violence.

In an interview last month with Youtube’s Nuance Bro (see video above), the Democrat who represents the state’s 16th district, explained what action she wants Congress to take on guns.

“Well, there’s a lot of things I could list.  I would love to see a ban on semiautomatic weapons, and the ammunition that goes with them but right now we’re working on background checks,” she says with an air of confidence.

Wait, what?  Did she really just say ban all semiautos and the ammo that goes with ‘em???  Banning semiauto ammo would mean banning most categories of firearms.

Nuance Bro did what any credible journalist would do in his position and asked for her to clarify her radically inane statement.

“I would like [the U.S.] to mirror California’s gun laws,” she says to sum up her stance.

But you can buy semiautomatic handguns in California, he responds.  To which she says, “Well, we’ve banned the bump stock.”

Huh?  WTF!!! But wait, it gets better (and by “better,” I mean dumber).

When he politely informs her that the federal government banned bump stocks she scrambles and changes her tune, dropping this beauty of a line in the process, “You can’t get the semiautomatic ammunition here in California.”

I’m almost at a loss for words; her ignorance is astounding! Again, he asks her to explain.

“What semiautomatic ammunition?” says Nuance Bro.

“The large magazines,” she says.

Let’s break this down.  Assemblywoman Bauer-Kahan, who is an environmental attorney who taught appellate law at Santa Clara University, does not know the difference between semiautomatic firearms and bump stocks nor the difference between a cartridge and a magazine.  Yet, she is actively protesting to strip away the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens nationwide.

For someone who is so passionate about gun control, you would think that she, especially being a law professor and an elected official, would have at least a cursory knowledge of guns, gun parts, and gun regulations, right?

She clearly does not.

GunsAmerica reached out to Bauer-Kahan via Facebook to see if she’d like to talk guns some more. Funny thing though, she never got back to us. Suppose it’s better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you’re a fool than to open your mouth (once again) and remove all doubt.

The grey-haired lady said something VERY important when faced with a question: “I am not a gun person.” No chit. That seems to be the trend with many people lobbying for increased gun control. Our nation has evolved into socially-active people who think the military and law enforcement are “do-all” answers for gun violence. Take the assemblywoman who didn’t know the difference between ammunition and magazines. Educated people research available information BEFORE trying to talk about the subject. They don’t know what NICS is, what constitutes an “assault” weapon, etc. Send some of the younger ones to a war zone and let them stand up with a semi-automatic weapon … then kiss their asses good-bye.

  • Created4el September 24, 2019, 1:41 am

    The interviewer should have asked:

Do you think a law breaker would obey a law that prohibits him from acquiring a firearm and using it?

If they think we need background checks…
Are you aware that there is a mandate at the federal level that requires all gun licensed gun sellers to do a background check for the buyer?

And for the person who says, “If it saves a life, isn’t it worth it?” he should ask,
The number of defensive use of firearms is much higher than the use of firearms in criminal activity which means it saves lives more than it takes, if having a firearm is saving life, isn’t it worth it?

There are semi autos that use rimmed revolver rounds like .357,.38spl,44mag
The 7.62x54r mosin round is used in semi autos.i guess maybe we can have paper cartridges? Nope! Paper 12 guage ammo will work in auto shotguns.

  • TechGuy September 21, 2019, 1:34 pm

You can read my previous comments below. I won’t reiterate.

Please join your state association and others that support our rights. I am an NRA member (I joined long before the SHTF) but, I’m not making further donations until they get their shit together. I’ve got a couple of $700 jackets (for professional conferences) but, I don’t own a single $1000 suit, let alone a $10,000 suit. And, I don’t live in a $10 million mansion. I’d rather buy another gun! (the correct number to own is, …one more than you currently own!) I’m not sure Wayne is worth it but, he does seem to have the Donald’s ear.

It’s pretty cheap to join the NRA. It’s sort of like Bitcoin …you don’t know if it will pay off or, even survive but, it’s worth investing on the off chance that it will. Be there when it happens!

My state association has lobbyists and is prosecuting a number of cases in state and federal court. I gave what little I could afford to both groups …last week. And, I’ll give more as the need arises.

I know of the 2A Foundation but, I’m not a member and, I gave what I could afford to my state association. If you can, give to both.

Face it, we are not the “front line” of defense of our 2A rights. The battle will be in the courts. You can thump your chest, insult the “anti’s”, carry your AR or AK into Walmart but, that will just piss off the ignorant opposition further. I can teach kids, buddies, housewives to use guns responsibly and, maybe we’ll get another dozen votes. If we all did this, maybe it would matter.

We have a problem. Be smart!

    • Created4el September 24, 2019, 1:55 am

Just wanted to reiterate what you wrote… the fight, for now, is in the courts. We do have the Constitution and Bill of Rights on our side. Most on the Left are completely clueless regarding firearms so they won’t be able to win anything if we have honest judges. But they have scruple-less legislators who are willing to make unconstitutional laws and bully the 2A community. For that, we must persevere and support those who are actively fighting for our rights and pray that those can be taken down quicker than these tyrants can put them in place.

So, I support the imperfect NRA… nobody is perfect. Being in Commiefornia, I also support Gun Owners of California and CA Rifle and Pistol Association as all three are actively fighting in the courts.

But I think you make another great point… we somehow need to advocate for gun rights among those around us. One way is to teach shooting as you suggest. Another way is if we can engage in sincere dialogue as this interviewer was trying to do and ask the Left questions that challenge their ideas, then they might realize their ideas are actually incoherent and that the leaders they follow are lying to them. Several of those interviewed, when challenged, realized they weren’t as informed as they thought they were. So many of those interviewed spewed nonsense that gets repeated over and over. If we can take their nonsense arguments away from them then maybe they will stop using them?

      • TechGuy September 26, 2019, 6:29 pm

Thank you Created4el!The battle will be in the courts; in the ballot boxes and probably not at Walmart. The people who will vote for anti-gun candidates (I\’ve seen a few recently) are, in many cases, our friends and neighbors. I recently read a rather lengthy paper written by a pro-gun psychiatrist … his advice was to ask questions: \”Where did you get your statistics?\” , \”Why do you think that?\” and, not be confrontational. Follow up with a bit of education and/or an invitation to go to a range, class, the farm, etc. Make gun safety your primary message. Be gentle, the anti-gun people are afraid of guns because they know nothing about them or, US for that matter. They\’re probably afraid of coyotes, rats and horses too.How many people do 150 million of us have to be nice to before pro-gun voters become a majority? Even if they never decide to own a gun. Face it, many of them shouldn\’t! On the other hand, I welcome new \”shooting buddies\”. I\’ve contaminated a few. Then, support the people who are fighting for our gun rights in the courts. If each of us were to give just one dollar to the cause … that would be …. (hang on, I\’ll have to use my fingers & toes to count) …Thanks again Created4el!

  • john smith September 21, 2019, 12:06 pm

” Banning semiauto ammo would mean banning most categories of firearms.”
Splitting hairs would be ALL ammo. Any gun shoots a round with each pull of the trigger. Even a single shot could be construed as a semi auto! I know. That’s stretching it, but that is what they are doing! They want it ALL! Hang the 2nd Amendment!

  • DaveGinOly September 20, 2019, 10:22 pm

Back in the 1980s, two ladies came knocking at my door. They both had what I called “the look.” They were representing Women for Non-Nuclear Future, and were asking for my signature on a petition asking for the United States to unilaterally divest itself of its nuclear arsenal. So I asked them some questions:
    What is a bus?
    What is throw weight?
What is CEP (circular error probable)?
    What is a MIRV?

They didn’t know the answers to any of my questions. I told them they should educate themselves on a subject first before becoming advocates for policy decisions concerning same.

  • Stuart September 20, 2019, 8:35 pm

The interviewer, “Nuance Bro” warrants a round of applause from 2nd amendment supporters. His display of personal restraint for not decking the pansy-ass stalker douche was very impressive.

  • FirstStateMark September 20, 2019, 8:31 pm

Sorry but I just couldn’t stand to watch anymore of the brain-dead woman who wants to ban semi automatic ammunition. Just goes to show you that most of these people don’t know the first thing about any kind of firearm. It’s a shame that a platform actually gives them a voice to show the world how stupid they are. Beto thinks that the AR-15 and the AK-47 shoot some kind of ammunition that more powerful and deadly than anything else in the market and he intends to confiscate all of it. Weapons of war the democrats are calling these ugly, ugly guns.

But of course, Beto has no intention of taking anyone’s hunting guns.

I can’t believe that anyone from Texas could be that ignorant, yet there he is polling at an astonishing 0%.

    • TechGuy September 21, 2019, 4:29 pm

Beto did a stint in the middle east. He’s obviously held an M4… or, maybe not if he wasn’t in a combat role. All the same, he’s spewing extreme left wing propaganda vomit. He knows the difference between an M4, M16, M14, etc. and an AR-15. He just thinks the rest of us are stupid.

      • TechGuy September 21, 2019, 4:36 pm

        The military doesn’t use ar-15’s! They’re civilian semi-automatic rifles.

We should outlaw the Toyota Corolla! It’s just like the M3 Bradley Infantry Support Vehicle. It can scale hills and obstacles (as long as they’re no more than 3″ high), support gang-bangers with hand held sub .45 caliber munitions… and, reach speeds of 45 mph (70kph) … in urban warfare zones …on a good day.

BTW, the AK, 7.62×39 is a bit weaker than grandad’s 30-30, a bit less accurate and, about the same as supersonic 300BLK. It’s good for deer to about 150yds …if you can hit them. In destructive tests, it didn’t fare well with an AR in 300BLK. On the upside, they’re stamped steel and widely used by nasty people world wide. Really cheap to make …and, shoot.

      • Brian K.B.Parrish July 9, 2021, 6:22 am

I’ll take you on at 500 yrds with my AK anytime or anyplace !

  • Wade September 20, 2019, 3:36 pm

@ Techguy – ‘They’, the anti-gun crowd, picked a fight with guns and gun owners decades ago. So ‘picking a fight’ with ‘them’ is really a no-brainer. The problem is their message doesn’t have the fractured base that our side does.
‘We’ have hunters that don’t like AR/AK style firearms.
‘We’ have people that think that if we ‘compromise’ things will be ‘OK’.
Handgun people don’t like rifle people.
    Revolvers are no longer relevant.
Sporting clays are all that matter.
    Personal protection is paramount.

Yes convincing an anti to get to the range and experience firearms is a really great way to start to change some minds. Even Sen. Chuck Shumer had a big smile on his face when he went shooting, but he’s still dedicated to taking your guns.

Until an anti gets mugged/burgled or their home/person violated and wishes they had a gun, they are still a loong ways off from being pro 2A. And then most likely it will be a very limited and narrow interpretation of just what the 2A will mean to them.

The ‘war on guns’ is just like the ‘War on Terror’ – it will NEVER end. It will be painful and expensive until one side get stheir way and the other side is totally defeated.

    • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 5:49 pm

      Wade,
That’s a fatalistic but, unfortunately valid assessment. On the other hand, I have shotguns, rifles (including traditional hunting and ARs), handguns of which at least a few are revolvers and a CCL… I shoot clays, birds, targets, hogs, deer and have a nasty ex-wife with a several million dollar interest in my death. I can’t claim to identify with any of the pro-gun factions. I just try to “be safe” and maintain a positive outlook.

I’ve taught my daughters, my girlfriend and many others to safely handle firearms and shoot. I think there are far more guns and gun owners than the surveys suggest. You think I’m going to tell some stranger on the phone that I have guns? “No sir!, I think all guns should be banned!”

On the other hand, I don’t think a combative posture will work well with people who have no clue what they’re talking about. I’m just one person of ….150ish million Americans who own guns. If more of us would educate just one or two of “them” and, the existing laws were strictly enforced, we might not be in the position we’re in. I’ve never taken anybody to the farm or range that didn’t leave with a big smile and no trace of aggression.

I taught my daughter’s with my dad’s Winchester .22 bolt rifle (discontinued in 1932) when they were 10 & 12. They’re now 19 & 22. I would like to see them to do the same with my grandchildren … and their children. It’ll be “grandpa’s AR & 1911” and “great grandpa’s .22”. I still have a Colt .38short issued to an ancestor by the Navy in …1862. Both sides of the family have been here for a loooonng time.

I’m old (if 67 is old)… future generations and, their rights are far more important than I am. I’ll fight for them but, I’ll try to “fight smart”. I’m not about to waltz into Walmart with an AR!

      • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 5:59 pm

Wade, I know people in my family have shot people …it would have been in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, VietNam….. I haven’t and hope I never do.

        • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 6:36 pm

BTW – I have never found anyone who is “on the fence” or professes to be anti-gun who is not fascinated when you slowly and deliberately “clear” a gun (especially an old revolver) and let them handle it. Have them cock the hammer, point it in a safe direction and “dry fire” it. There are only 4 rules of gun safety… the “range rules” are a different story …there are usually 10 or 20 of them. By the time you’ve let them handle a gun, they can’t wait to shoot it. Anything that hits the target is a “good shot”!

    • Easy Eddie September 20, 2019, 4:12 pm

Wait! If we educate her, we’ll lose her as an example of how absolutely ignorant many of these ‘antis’ are. I think their ignorance needs to be on display every time they open their mouths.

    • Gary G September 20, 2019, 5:04 pm

Lot of truth out there, lot of perceived truth too. Truth will always be truth. Perceived truth can change.
Perceived Truth- the world is flat. Proved wrong. Perceived Truth- the earth is the center of the universe. Proved wrong. Maybe some of the truth perceived about the evils of guns will be proved wrong. Will banning the instrument or what fuels it stop the carnage? If so, ban alcohol and you’d stop drunk drivers. Do away with vehicles and you’d do away with the deaths caused by drunk drivers. Will intelligence tests, legislation, and background checks stop the carnage? Then how were a handful of people able to kill thousands of Americans with passenger jets? Most Americans couldn’t fly one, much less get it to a certain target. Are we unintelligent? By in large the answer is no. But there are laws and background checks in place already that would prevent a regular citizen from even gettibg close to trying it. America needs to stop trying to put a political bandaid on everything and treat the cause. Why is there more mass killings? More road rage? More domestic violence? We need to address the cause and treat it. Will banning military weapons and their ammunition solve the problem, no. As for the framers of the Constitution not intending the populace to carry military weapons- most of the civilians and military used the same guns. As did the British soldiers.

  • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 1:53 pm

OK, guys, stop going to war with the anti-gun people. The more emotion and less thought you pour into it, the more they will dig their heels in and fight us!

A little over half of the population has never fired a gun. They have no idea. The average I.Q is 100 and, in my book, that’s not very bright. But many are intelligent and well educated …they’re just ignorant. Ignorance is not a sin or a lack of intelligence …it’s a lack of information. In any area I’m not intimately involved, I will freely admit my ignorance.

When you challenge people in an aggressive manner, they are not open to learning anything. Intelligent people, presented with information in a non-threatening manner, are usually open to considering the information. We are failing to defend our 2A rights by being …stupid!

I don’t want gun registration, “assault weapons ban” (my 300BLK deer rifle is an AR), magazine restrictions, violations of my 2nd, 4th or 5th Amendment rights, red-flag laws or the inability to pass my firearms to my children.

Presenting a macho “come and try to take my guns” attitude is not accomplishing anything. Look at the political and cultural divide we have created between the pro-gun and the anti-gun factions with this attitude.

Be kind, patient and understanding with your opponents… you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar (or, “piss & vinegar” in this case).

Talk to those who will listen …the ones who will listen are NOT stupid. Be gentle… we and they have endured pain and humiliation from the assholes who, I for one, would never have allowed access to a gun.

    1. Prosecution for violations of existing laws: In Chicago, murderers are routinely released on minimal bonds with “ankle bracelets”, aquitted and, in some cases, given their guns back. Straw purchases, gross failures to report “nut cases” and felonies to the NICS, etc. Chicago has some of the most extreme gun laws in the country …it’s working really well, now isn’t it?

    2. Denials to the NICS checks are, essentially, NEVER followed up on. The Aurora shooter in Illinois.

    3. Psychiatric drugs: Name a single “nut case” shooter in the past 40 years that has NOT been on psychiatric drugs, recently discontinued same or, was on a cocktail of other drugs. A rare but, significant percentage of persons on these drugs are prone to suicidal or homicidal ideation, psychosis and fixation. It is difficult to determine if these fixations were pre-existing or, caused by these drugs but, look at the evidence.

But, with nearly 400 million guns in the country, we’re talking about a tiny percentage. An anti-gun person, in many cases, is simply a gun-person who doesn’t know anything about guns.

I’ll shoot somebody if I have to … but, I never have and hope I never will. I won’t let anybody kill me or mine but, I’ll do my best to avoid it.

Make friends with your enemy …take them to the range. But, teach them the rules first.

    • Kit Smith September 20, 2019, 6:16 pm

Your AR isn’t an assault rifle. You wouldn’t choose it with an assault in mind… You’d most likely choose a selectable burst, automatic, or maybe an MP5.

    • DaveGinOly September 20, 2019, 10:30 pm

“We” have not created the divide. We the people have been exercising our right to arms since this nation’s inception. Our right has come under attack by people and forces that want us disarmed – not for our safety , but for their own. “We” did not start this fight and did not create the divide. “We” have been the victims of several decades of insults, propaganda, and restrictive legislation. “We” have had our right diminished even though we have committed no crimes. THEY have created the divide by separating themselves from the mainstream that never had to think about firearms rights because at one time not too long ago they were essentially inviolate. “We” did not encroach upon the rights of others as they are encroaching (and seeking to terminate entirely) several of our natural rights. “We” are NOT responsible for this situation.

      • TechGuy September 21, 2019, 2:31 pm

        Thank you for responding.

You’re both right. The AR is NOT an assault rifle… It’s just a gun. I know exactly what a real “Assault Rifle” looks like and, does. And, while we have not created the divide, it exists. It is based mostly on ignorance and politicians lust to exploit the ignorance of the general population. We can do something but, it won’t be accomplished with defiance. Read other posts.

  • Gary G September 20, 2019, 1:27 pm

Fullyautomatic I used to refered to the weapons used by terrorist when they weren’t using bombs. Those reported in the news are semi-automatic. Most news and political persons confuse the later for the first. Therefor the confusion among the general public.

  • Mauser6863 September 20, 2019, 1:15 pm

This is a religious debate with the Leftist Tyrants, FACTS DON’T Matter. You will never convince them, only defeat them politically .

In reality, they only want “Gun Control” to impact their political enemies, as they, as our “GREAT LEADERS” will be exempt from the rules that apply to us mere mortals.

Look at New York and California were only the elites have armed guards, concealed carry permits and other special rights. The rest of the people are simply ignored, as they are peasants that don’t matter, except on election day.

NOT ONE MORE INCH on ANYTHING, EVER!!!!! NO COMPROMISE.

After World War II everybody in Europe had a weapon fully automatic or semi shelter Stop the Violence they banned the ammunition you could not buy him a nation in Europe after World War II so you had a rifle that was no good to you so you turned it in now you’re has maybe one or two weapons 400 population if a burglar steals a gun you’re you’re at his Mercy you have nothing you can do you don’t take a gun to a knife fight this is crazy you don’t want to ban ammunition you want the band the people using the rifle and ammunition you want to see what’s going on we need to check people’s intelligence if they can’t pass a simple test IQ test when you buy a weapon they don’t need it we need to do something to control the people not the weapons

  • Gary G September 20, 2019, 11:57 am

The problem in America is not guns or any other weapon of choice. The problem is the mind set tbat we as parents and role models have allowed to overcome our younger generation. We no longer raise our children or mentor those that are not ours. We allow the internet and the media on it to raise them. No longer are our young taught by the older, instead they are given cell phones to keep them occupied while the “adults” tend to their fast paced life and personal goals. Cartoons like Baby With a Gun, videos depicting killing and destruction implant in the young minds that violence and killing are fun and acceptable. Once the thrill slackens then more violent and fast paced interaction must be found. The law of “diminishing returns” proves true. Terrorists mainly use bombs because of the amount of death and destruction they create. Fully automatic weapons are used when they want to martyr them selves and bring the violence. They will be seen and remembered that way. If we in America continue to allow our young to be fed this violence through any media, removing one weapon will only make them choose another to get the rush they seek. We need to first heal the minds of our young and stop the disease we are allowing to enter into them. Violence should be only used as a last resort to defend someone or something and not as a means to satisfy a higher rush.

This video should be a learning experience for everyone who supports the 2A and our gun rights! The first teacher was very intelligent, articulate and, open to discussion. The second was a bit less but, still impressive. The student was pretty sharp but, uninformed.

Ignorance and stupidity are NOT the same thing. Ignorance is a lack of information and, stupidity is the inability to process information presented.

It is our duty, as gun people, to work with the opposition, not against them. Sit down with anti-gun people and start with the “rules”. Emphasize our commitment to the “rules” that are ingrained in our psyche (“keep your finger off the f#@king trigger”,etc.). Present information. Introduce them to the instructors that have influenced US (the “gun people”).

Finally, take them to the range! I personally don’t like indoor ranges. I taught my own daughters on the farm or, at outdoor family ranges. With a newbe, the range safety officer is your friend… from old retired cops and vets to kids who can gently nudge them in the right direction.

My girlfriend is very proficient with handguns and qualified for her CCL. When I presented the pending bills for “gun control” (Diane Feinstein in D.C., Julie Morrison in IL) she insisted that “assault weapons” that could spray 1000’s of rounds/minute at innocent school kids should be banned and confiscated. We happened to be on the way to the farm (I didn’t tell her that her new S&W M&P AR-15 was in the back of the truck). I had my cousin, with the identical rifle, see if he could get her to shoot his. After 3 30round magazines, she admitted that it was nothing like she had been led to believe (although, at 63, she did complain a bit about the recoil…this is a girl who is not afraid of a 1911 or CZ75).

It is our duty, if we want to retain our gun rights, to work with the opposition, not against them. Ignorance is NOT stupidity. Present them with facts, not emotion! Teach them the rules we live by. Teach them how a gun works and how to shoot it! Introduce them to our instructors. Take them to the range….

TEACH THEM TO CLEAN THE GUNS! They all go away tranquil and happy, except me. The guy that goes home with 6 or 8 guns to clean!

    • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 11:50 am

BTW, ALWAYS tell the range officer you have a newbe! In my experience, they’ll dote over your “newbe” like a mother hen and help you with the mistakes every “newbe” makes …don’t pretend you never made these same mistakes! Also, if your “newbe” is a woman, send them to the “Well Armed Woman” website or one of their meetings. No woman will listen to a guy.

      • TechGuy September 20, 2019, 11:59 am

…and, it’s often said that there are 2 ways to understand a woman. Unfortunately, no guy knows what either of them are…

  • Aaron September 20, 2019, 10:40 am

Further proof that California need to be kick out of the US.

  • ~ Occams September 20, 2019, 9:55 am

Why else do you think she was elected by idiots? Because SHE’S an idiot, and since 90% of this nation listens to MSM and believes ‘their’ politicians, and ARE idiots, themselves, well….

‘You get the government you deserve’

    • Martin D Zuniga September 20, 2019, 11:04 am

This is proof of just how stupid these people are! There’s no such thing as semi automatic ammo!!!! Dumb azz!!

  • BR549 September 20, 2019, 9:44 am

Why can’t these brain-dead leftards get it straight? It isn’t GUN violence, it’s violence. period.

What are people choosing to violate other people’s rights and boundaries on a more frequent basis?

    —————–

The answer lies in the disenfranchisement of your average citizen from feeling themselves to actually be a functioning part of this grand political experiment. You can thank the legislature for that; they are, after all, the final arbiter in making the rules that we have to abide by ……….. while they don’t.

But take your average gray-haired, feminist, liberal twat-for-brains and that fruit of that solution appears to be too high up the tree to reach (read that as “understand”). Hence, they go after the low hanging fruit that’s within their limited understanding and completely ignore the real problem as long as they can go home at the end of the day and massage their ego.

  • Martin September 20, 2019, 9:31 am

I bet her mom and dad had to shell out big bucks to get a college to admit her!

    • E September 20, 2019, 1:24 pm

But see here, that’s the goal. There are plenty of intelligent people that have ulterior motives for seemingly looking and acting ignorant and stupid about guns. It’s done to make guns irrelevant. They want people to be dumbed down like they are. When you can eventually achieve that, you can make it irrelevant. Of course, that will never happen because millions of Americans both on the left and right own guns. Less on the left but they still know how important guns are. Not all are that stupid.

  • Ringo Lapua September 20, 2019, 9:08 am

    You can\’t legislate MORALITY.

    • rudder September 20, 2019, 9:28 am

Of course you legislate morality, when you have a law against murder, that’s legislating morality. When you have a law against bigamy, that’s legislating morality. When you have a law against rape, that’s legislating morality.

      • Brandon September 20, 2019, 10:20 am

Do those laws stop any of that? No.
        Hence, you can’t legislate morality.

        • zack September 20, 2019, 11:10 am

no the laws dont legislate morality they provide a guideline and authority for police action and
conviction so after the crimes committed punitive action may be taken

      • Joe Moore September 20, 2019, 12:18 pm

No legislation – no printed “law” – has ever prevented or deterred crime. Never has, does not now, and never will.

Laws merely define the levels of “proper” behavior that are expected in “civilized” society. Some of those laws specify punishment for failure to obey or live up to those standards.

Neither the existence of law, nor the severity of punishment act/serve as crime deterrents. Only the CERTAINTY of punishment acts as any kind of preventative measure.

  • joefoam September 20, 2019, 9:04 am

A display of complete ignorance about the subject. These are the types of people that will enact laws that will affect millions without knowing what they are doing. Way to go voters in her district.

  • John O Powell September 20, 2019, 8:58 am

I am a firm believer in a standardized test for becoming a politician. She is clearly another educated (partially)
    idiot (fully).
I remember similar talk by another CA politician Kevin de Leon. He did not know the first thing about guns but his mouth tried anyway.

  • Chris September 20, 2019, 8:53 am

Trumps has it on his California list:

    1) Border walls

    2) Emissions

    3) Go to lunch with Arnie

    4) Stop stupid gun laws

    • ~ Occams September 20, 2019, 9:58 am

Herr Trumplestein has passed more anti-2nd gun ‘laws’ than Obama. Sorry to break it to you. Trump, like every president, is a failure and answers to our owners, Israel, who wants us disarmed. No? Who leads the charge in DC to remove the 2nd?

      (Unconstitutional) dual-passport holders.

      • Jon Dough September 20, 2019, 11:41 pm

I have been gathering quotes from ‘our fearless leader’ Trump to prove to all the BLIND naysayers I come across that he is NO FRIEND of the 2A

I am increasingly getting more fed up with all the “promises” that he’s tossed out there as if they were peanuts to the pigeons on NY City’s sidewalks… QUOTES like,

” You have a true friend and champion in the White House. No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners. No longer will the government be trying to undermine your rights and your freedoms as Americans…. … As your President, I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Never ever.” -Trump’s speech at the NRA Membership meeting

He is leaning hard toward approving a National “RED FLAG LAW” .
… A Stone cold VIOLATION of the Bill of Rights in so many ways…

“Take the guns first, go through due process second.”
Another SERIOUS VIOLATION of the 2nd and 4th amendments

He’s been moving some anti-gun people into positions of power… including the new A.G. Barr
He is leaning hard toward a “silencer” ban; another VIOLATION of the 2nd amendment.
He’s enabled the ban on (admittedly useless but very precedent setting ) ‘bump stocks’…
Another VIOLATION of the 2nd amendment

He promised: “They [ judges appointed by him ] will interpret the Constitution the way the founders wanted it interpreted. And I believe that’s very, very important.”

He promised: “I will SHUT DOWN N.P.R.” He did not “shut it down” as he repeatedly blustered while on campaign. NPR is not only communist leaning, they are very anti-gun, they use the airwaves HOURLY to push their propaganda to millions upon millions of sheep. I have written him repeatedly, reminding him of just how NPR undermines everything he and his administration does… -and how it undermines our Constitution , spreading lies about guns and gun owners each and every day. Thus far? NADA.

He, and his administration have done nothing when many States and cities have stepped all over the 2A, our Constitution and Bill of Rights. He COULD have… He COULD have sent his A.G. after all the scofflaws,.. He COULD have sent U.S. Marshals … -but thus far? nothing but… silence -and inaction..
Not sure what I will ‘do’ with my personal expose, but it needs to be said. I’m really TIRED of all the lies and bullschitt.

I’ve been voting since I was 18 years old… -never missing a vote. I’m pushing 74 now and I’m so completely FED UP with them all I could just scream.

Ask youself; Why oh why, do we ALWAYS have to choose between “the lesser of two evils” ?

  • Todd Lee September 20, 2019, 8:28 am

This woman like many others in states with strict gun control laws might argue that even though they still have gun violence, it’s the result of guns being available from other states where the 2nd Amendment is still respected. So their agenda of having guns restricted at a national level would be their dream. This in turn, not only violates the 2nd Amendment, but also the 10th. Add in the ignoring of due process in so called red flag laws and confiscation in general, and you have pretty much nothing left of the Bill of Rights. It’s just a matter of time. Pray that our nation does not fall into the hands of totalitarian leftists as places like California has already.

  • GunGuy September 20, 2019, 8:10 am

These people are retarded and have no idea what they’re talking about. The gun community needs to ban together and get active to counter the anti-gunner’s message.

  • The Millionth Counsel September 20, 2019, 8:04 am

She is partially right. Due to CA Micro stamping law, only semi auto handguns that were on the CA approval list prior to the law are allowed to be sold in CA. The only way a new model semi auto can be sold is if the manufacturer adds micros stamping to it. Since no gun manufacturer does there is a de facto ban on new handguns in CA

  • Dan Gore September 20, 2019, 7:41 am

JT Coffey, u just don’t get it! 2nd amendment isn’t about hunting! It’s about the ability to defend ourselves from a terranical government. Any and all of their “common sense “laws are a joke. Criminals don’t obey laws, and they already admitted that these “laws “wouldn’t have stopped 99% of the mass murders. They always say 2nd should be defined in 1700s. Then all of the Constitution should be also .l could list all of the things that the Democrats consider “sacred “that would not be allowed, but that would take all month! Just can’t fix stupid!

  • ron September 20, 2019, 7:39 am

Why is it news that gun-grabbers generally know absolutely nothing about guns?

  • kool1 September 20, 2019, 7:16 am

When the dem’s give up their ARMED BODY GUARD’S I’ll give up my AR………

    • Michael Hayes September 20, 2019, 8:42 am

I will not give up my firearms, EVER.

  • Larry Harris September 20, 2019, 7:03 am

How about blaming the person committing the crime. The firearm did not get up and shoot someone. Just a tool. Depends on the person using the tool for good or evil.

    • Ardvark September 20, 2019, 7:51 am

Reducing crime or punishing the perpetrator has nothing to do with the democrats wanting guns banned, gun ownership gets in the way of their plans for total control of the people!

  • Jay September 20, 2019, 7:01 am

This is the very reason there is no such a thing as common sense and democrat in the same sentence or train of thought. Red flag laws are appropriately named as it’s exactly like the communist have done and do! There is no such a thing as gun violence because in comparison we have far, far more Automobile violence, drowning violence, malpractice violence etc… We are in for a change and you better be prepared as Trump is going to pass another anti-gun law!

    • CivilWar2.0 September 20, 2019, 8:06 am

If that happens or doesn’t happen we still need to vote for Trump. It is our only option for now. We can’t waste our vote, we can’t vote for a Democrat and we can’t just sit home on Election Day. We can’t try and make predictions on what Trump will or won’t do, but we sure as hell can make the prediction that ANY Democrat will try to eliminate guns and ammo. Take care brothers and sisters

  • Jason Coffey September 20, 2019, 6:52 am

I would like to see a ban on Feminazi’s who wish for a totalitarian government to strip us of all our rights! Without the 2A all others would soon be lost.

  • oliver September 20, 2019, 5:09 am

I would not want to be anywhere near the State of California when TSHTF.

  • Chick September 20, 2019, 5:07 am

What’s bad is, that someone has probably bred her, and she has kids, just as ignorant.

  • Sepp W September 20, 2019, 4:14 am

The ignorance of firearm parlance among those who would deprive the mass of their God-given right is astounding. What’s even more astounding is the mass takes no action to fix it, but instead allows the incapable and unproductive to determine the fate for the rest of us at the polls.

  • David Hardy September 20, 2019, 3:49 am

With her ready opinion, but total lack of knowledge of the subject, I am relieved that she never took up medicine as a career.

  • E-Gars September 20, 2019, 12:41 am

I just love to listen to people protest against something they really have no idea about. Make me sleep better at night. If you really cared you would put the time and effort to learn what your bitching about. Please find something productive to do with your time. Or at least try and learn about the thing you are protesting. Until you do, everyone that’s has any idea about this topic just thinks your a dumbass. Please learn before making fools of yourself again

  • William McAtee September 19, 2019, 11:21 pm

All the gun grabbing politicians and people who hold their views are completely ignorant about guns!

  • Ba September 19, 2019, 9:03 pm

Is she related to Dumb and Dumber ? P&F

    • George September 20, 2019, 7:03 am

Why are California Political Officials so FN stupid?

      • Hondo September 20, 2019, 8:28 am

Stupid voters get you stupid politicians.

  • Randy Pennel September 19, 2019, 7:59 pm

Gun Grabbers are ignorant I will give up my guns when all criminals obey the law

    • Nelson Gardner September 20, 2019, 7:59 am

And by criminals, you mostly mean politicians I assume. 😁

  • Kenneth W Gerloff September 19, 2019, 6:57 pm

People like her shouldn’t hold public office.

  • J. T. Coffey September 19, 2019, 5:44 pm

As a rifle owner for over 50 yrs I’d say Fixed Magazines for Civilian use, tubular or stripper’clip . Lawful people don’t need to reload Quickly for “wild game”.

    • ron September 20, 2019, 7:45 am

Since you’re obviously a gun-grabber lying about your rifle, please keep your opinion to yourself.

    • Eddie September 20, 2019, 7:51 am

Since when does my right to keep and bear arms hinge upon what someone else thinks I need? It is called the “Bill Of Rights”, not “Bill of Perceived Needs” for a reason.

    • John McNamara September 20, 2019, 8:00 am

I went through the 1967 Detroit riots. Needed something like an AR15 to defend my family.

Also google “Ruby Ridge”. One small family vs more than 200 federal agents in the wrong.

      John

    • Nelson Gardner September 20, 2019, 8:01 am

The 2A was not written for hunting bro. 😡

    • Shannon Bower September 20, 2019, 8:07 am

The second amendment has nothing to do with your hunting “wild game”. Stupid damn fudd.

    • KoonBill September 20, 2019, 8:13 am

Unless I am misreading or misunderstanding your statement, You do realize this has absolutely nothing to do with “Wild Game”. It is simply about “Control”. Have you took notice of how many “Lawful People” are being made unlawful by some one else’s actions?

    • Chris Smith September 20, 2019, 8:17 am

Jesus Christ man; you think this is about wild game? You are as ignorant as the congresswoman. You are henceforth banned from owning any firearms. And from posting on this site.

    • Hondo September 20, 2019, 8:32 am

Says who ? You ? So willing to give up somebody else’s rights. We don’t need your kind of help, piss off.

    • Jamie in North Dakota September 20, 2019, 8:33 am

      LOL! GFY

    • Jack September 20, 2019, 9:22 am

The second amendment has absolutely NOTHING to do with hunting…

  • Mike Luccketta September 19, 2019, 3:21 pm

Sadly this has all become very much the norm here in California.
I am astounded with the fact that many of our fellow citizens are so jacked up at the idea of repealing a constitutional right. Father, they not know what they do!!!
I am so tired of my rights getting shit on. I am just waiting for SCOTUS to intervene and put a stop to this madness. It never ends.
Why are we expected to give up our rights because some fucktard goes postal. These asshats are now pushing for confiscating our firearms. Once they attempt to do such a thing as this, they will not stop with just the ‘ scary ‘ guns. These actions will only effect law abiding gun owners. The bad guys are not going to give up their guns and STANDARD mags. Also, these politicians pat each other backs praising one another on such
‘ brave ‘ legislation they have passed. Trust me, it will not be these cowards and hypocrites coming to our homes to confiscate our firearms. It will be some officer with possibly a young family at home.
This is all very bad all around.

  • Killian McGrath September 19, 2019, 2:57 pm

As clueless as politicians like this are about firearms, it makes you wonder how many issues they’re equally as clueless about. If they can know so little about something they’re this vocal against, how well could they possibly understand less noteworthy issues.

  • Lewis Jones September 19, 2019, 12:04 pm

Do they keep that ammunition on the same isle as the blinker fluid ?

  • Jaque September 19, 2019, 10:45 am

She and her comrades have nothing to worry about in demonstrating their ignorance of firearms. The voters are even more ignorant. And until gun rights organizations start spending money on citizen education about firearms and the second amendment and do so using every form of media we are going lose the argument.

Every NRA chapter in every city must host free seminars at gun ranges, public halls, and conference rooms to educate the uninformed and ignorant about guns and the law.

Until the voters are fully educated and are smarter about gun rights and how they became the second amendment, and educated in gun types and the lies they are being told by the communists we are going to lose our most fundamental rights as Americans.

Its going to take a ton of money and and endless hours of volunteering by gun rights groups to save the second amendment but the cost of doing nothing is even greater.

The old way of influencing politicians by money, which is the NRA way of doing things isn’t working. That’s obvious by NRA A rated politicians turning against gun owners when its politically convenient. Its the voters that must be educated. Instead of Lapierre’s extravagant wardrobe and expenses influencing untrusted politicians the NRA must work on influencing voters. The communists are masters of influence and that is obvious as they are winning the gun control argument, social medicine argument, and control the education systems in the United States.

Its time gun rights groups start using the methods of the communist gun grabbers against them. Doing things the same old way isn’t working. The NRA and other gun rights organizations must change from being only lobbyists to being both lobbyists for gun rights and and being public educators. Its the voters we must capture, and there is little time remaining to do so. Gun control will be the most important topic on the minds of voters in 2020.

I would bet a ton of gold that there will be more mass shootings using the “weapons of war” before the 2020 elections. If anyone doesn’t consider that some of these mass killers are tools of the deep state, and that future mass killers will be tools of the deep state I remind all of the Obama regimes Russiagate operation against our president, and past False Flag operations by the FBI and CIA.

Don’t forget Obamas Fast and Furious operation smuggling US guns to the Mexican Cartels hoping they would be traced back to US gun stores and used to influence public opinion for greater gun control in the US.

    • John Smith September 20, 2019, 3:47 am

If you patriots get the party going over there with who ever tries to take your guns, we will come across town and help all of you out. We don’t want to let you all have the fun for your selves. God bless the partisans in occupied California. My birth country republic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • GaDawg September 20, 2019, 9:30 am

Mine too, but that was before it earned the moniker, “the land of fruits and nuts.”

  • Carl Hughes September 19, 2019, 4:27 am

As always the latest, but not the greatest, hot topic band wagon to jump on to harvest votes. I live in Virginia and only know of what our all truth endowing media provides to me of California. It seems to me,like the rest of the country,I would be more focused on the homelessness, starving children with in a 20 mile radius of your home and the United States falling further and further behind the world in educating our children. Nah,thems damn bullets n guns!!!

    • Charles September 20, 2019, 6:51 am

Too bad we can’t ban politicians like this woman. She gives lawyers an even worse at reputation than they already have.

  • Killer September 19, 2019, 1:11 am

    California, woman, lawyer.
What more needs to be said? Obviously she has no knowledge of what’s coming out her mouth. Just one more example of the desperate need this world has for a new life guard at the gene pool. The sad thing is there are literally millions like her that are totally clueless but continually run their mouth.

    • FREDERIC L Paul September 19, 2019, 9:06 pm

It’s a sad thing when you realize that this person was actually ELECTED to be a Congressional Representative of her state government. I’m surprised that she’s not running for PRESIDENT of the United States! Thank GOD!

  • Steve Dunnington September 19, 2019, 12:24 am

So very pleased with herself and her stupid mantra…and completely fucking clueless!
