The Cherokee Community School District in Western Iowa is now allowing some staff members to carry guns on campus.
The move came just months after Spirit Lake Community Schools, in Northwestern Iowa, opted to do the same.
The policy will allow selected employees to carry firearms. Prior to the change, only law enforcement was allowed to bring guns onto school grounds.

“No one wants guns in school, but we want bad guys with a gun even less,” Superintendent Kimberly Lingenfelter told KCCI in an interview. “And the board has taken a very measured and serious approach to the challenge of keeping students safe and staff.”
While school shootings are statistically rare events and less common than they were in the ’90s, any policy that puts armed responders on site to help stop active killers has the potential to save lives.
In fact, armed citizens thwarted 34.4% of active shooter incidents from 2014-2021, according to data gathered by the nonprofit Crime Research Prevention Center.
Campus carry shouldn’t be controversial. Good guys with guns protect bankers, billionaires, pro athletes, and politicians every day in this country, no reason why they shouldn’t protect school children as well.

Its the left, freaking out that teachers can now shoot the kids, that makes the repeat news, and teachers protecting their kids dosent get the same sort of airplay. The left has always needed a bogeyman, and in the South, that has been the republicans for 150 years, so of course the republicans are blamed for being behind arming teachers, “and thats bad”…
Its sad that it has to be this way but I think they should do this everywhere in the USA
