An Affordable Straight-Pull Rifle from Beretta? The BRX1 — NRA 2024

in Industry News, This Week

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

We got a chance to showcase the latest from Beretta at the 2024 NRAAM. Beretta introduced their new BRX1 rifle, a head-turning rifle that may just shake up the hunting world.

The standout feature of the BRX1 is its straight-pull action. To fire, you simply pull back and push forward smoothly—no up and down movements required. This rifle features a crisp, adjustable trigger weighing less than 2 pounds.

The BRX1 also features a unique safety system. You engage the safety by pushing forward, ensuring it won’t accidentally disengage. To release it, you push down before it can move up. This design requires a deliberate action, preventing unintentional safety toggles.

Customization is a key highlight. The stock is interchangeable, and the pistol grip angle can be adjusted. The rifle comes with a kick pad and a threaded barrel. There are various scope mounting options and there’s an adapter for Magpul magazines. It also comes with a standard five-round magazine.

Beretta BRX1 Key Features:

Two Beretta BRX1s
MSRP starts at $1,499. Not bad, right?
  • Reversible ambidextrous linear bolt
  • Closing system with 8 lug bolt (16 for magnum calibers) – already adopted on military weapons with maximum safety
  • Interchangeable barrels of different calibers
  • 3 positions safety system: shoot and reload, locked trigger and free bolt for safe loading and unloading, trigger and bolt locked
  • M14 threaded barrel with thread cover for 16 mm barrel profile
  • High performance Polymer forend with two textured grips and sling swivel ring
  • Adjustable trigger weight with 3 different positions (from 950 to 1,500 grams)
  • High performance Polymer stock, adjustable LOP with spacers
  • Removable magazine, made of high visibility orange polymer with 5 shots capacity (also for magnum calibers) and double release button

Switching from right-handed to left-handed use is straightforward — watch True demonstrate in the video embedded above. This ambidextrous feature is a significant plus for left-handed shooters.

The basic model starts at $1,499 MSRP! The initial calibers include .300 Win Mag, .308, and 6.5 Creedmoor, with more to follow. Shipping begins in June or July.

Carbon Fiber Barrel Available

Another variant includes a carbon fiber barrel, offering a lighter option at a higher price. Despite the advanced features, the BRX1 remains competitively priced, promising great value with a ton of features and an MOA guarantee for accuracy.

Beretta’s BRX1 is definitely something to keep an eye on. We look forward to getting one in for a full review. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
