A Detroit man was shot in the chest after he was found exposing himself to several young children, local media reports.

The alleged pervert was in the front yard of his sister’s house on Friday, exposing himself to the woman’s 3-year-old son, niece and nephew.

A neighbor called the woman, identified only as India, to tell her about the situation. India was out of the house but quickly returned home.

“All I know is he pulled down his pants in front of my niece and my nephews and he was letting the kids touch his butt,” India said.

India’s fiancé came to the home at her request to deal with her brother, who apparently refused to leave. The situation escalated and then India’s fiancé fired a gun, hitting her brother in the chest.

The brother is now recovering in the hospital. It’s unclear whether the fiancé will face charges in relation to the shooting.

“He just kept saying he was sorry, he was just playing around, he didn’t know, he’s sorry. He apologized and that was it,” India said.

What would you do if you saw a man exposing himself to children?

I would have aimed about two feet downward.

This situation can be broken down into 3 distinct and separate parts.
    1. What most of us would like to do.
    2. What we see done in the movies.
    3. What the law allows.
Now, before someone jumps on me about the law being insufficient or too liberal, I agree with you but until someone changes it it still THE LAW and I obey the law.

Unfortunately all anyone can do legally is call the police and file a complaint. Any beating is at a minimum assault. Any shooting is at a minimum attempted murder. The charges only get worse from there and that’s before the civil cases start to fly.
Yes, a grown man exposing himself to children is disgusting but is it punishable by death? I don’t think so. Laws are the framework of society and society is all that separates us from animals. You don’t have to like the law but you must obey it until you change it. Otherwise you are contributing to the degradation of our society and there is already too much of that going on.

“”” India’s fiancé came to the home at her request to deal with her brother, who apparently refused to leave. The situation escalated and then India’s fiancé fired a gun, hitting her brother in the chest. “””
The article does not give details about the ‘escalation’, so before all of the ‘don’t shoot’ comments come out, lets find out the details.
Maybe the pervert attacked the fiance, or one of the kids. Without all of the details, lets not be like the lame stream media and draw conclusions.

I will agree with NONE and Jake Z. as much as I would LOVE to shoot this dirtbag, Shooting someone is the last thing you would want to do. If my ten years a police officer and 14 years as a corrections officer in the state of Fl. t the time we were licensed by Fl. Dept of law enforcement (FDLE) has taught me anything its taught me there is a time to shoot and a time not to. Once you squeeze that trigger and the weapon goes bang….that’s it, you can’t say oops..didn’t mean ta do that..my bad. NOPE, you decided to squeeze the trigger that bullet goes where its pointed, What if the bullet had traveled through the guy and hit one of those little kids?

Now what is gonna be the outcome of this incident? At the very least the brother will have nothing to do with his sister. What is the sister thinking about all this? Is she like….well…he shot my brother over this, is he gonna shoot me next? It has needless put an incredible strain on their relationship if it hasn’t destroyed it altogether. Better to open a huge can of whup ass, give him a whuppin he won’t soon forget, one he won’t forget till his dying breath. I wouldn’t give 2 shits for the local assault laws, I’d give him the beating of lifetime. Just my $.02 worth, y’all have a great day now.

    Pepper spray his family jewels.

I have to agree with “none” up there, I definitely wouldn’t shoot him, but fuck the laws regarding assualt, you expose yourself to any kids, I’d throw that person the worst beating of their life. And I’d make sure it was one to remember.

What would I do? Aim higher. Or lower.

  • none September 5, 2015, 3:10 pm

I would beat him senseless. Not use a gun. Guns complicate things leaglly. Only if my life or livlyhood was in danger would I use a gun.

What’s more of an “immediate threat of serious personal injury” than destroying children for the rest of their lives?

  • Mark N. September 4, 2015, 2:41 am

Insufficient detail as to why the boyfriend shot the perv, but it does not sound like a good shoot. There has to be an immediate threat of serious personal injury or death before deadly force is authorized, and I don’t see anything suggesting that here.
