Every SHOT Show I pay special attention to how the word “tactical” can be applied to almost anything. This year at 5.11 Tactical — one of the bigger names in clothes and accessories for military, law enforcement and shooters and outdoors enthusiasts everywhere — we were discussing new products for 2016, and I was completely dumbfounded at the mention of “tactical yoga pants.”
Lyndsey Grove, Marketing Campaign Manager at 5.11 Tactical, explained that “The truth of the matter is women just live in their yoga pants, so why can’t we go to the range in them?”
That was the genesis for the Raven Range tactical yoga pants, two high-quality options for women that include a full-length pant or a capri cut. Constructed from flexible and comfortable Ponte di Roma, the pants have a smooth finish for a sleek look and feel. Raven Range pants have a broad elastic waistband, belt loops and abrasion-resistant panels for gun belts, holsters and handgun. In front the pants are reinforced with poly-nylon panels if you have to take a knee.

Raven Range ractical yoga pants are available in black and Tundra, 5.11’s dark earth tone. Retail price is $89 for the capris and $94 for the full-length pants.
In addition to the new pants, 5.11 Tactical is adding a new shooting shirt for women: the Spitfire. A form-fitting top designed for the range, the Spitfire is built with hidden utility pockets and sleeve pen pockets for storage. The Spitfire is also water- and stain-resistant and is offered in Mosstone green, Maritime blue and black for $74.
5.11 hasn’t forgotten men with the new Traverse Pant 2.0. Building on the success of last year’s Apex and Stryke pants, the Traverse Pant 2.0 is cut for utility and has 10 pockets, including several zip pockets, for all your gear. They’re made from a quick-drying, water- and stain-resistant blend with double reinforcements at the knees, perfect for any outdoor activities.
The company has also announced the return of their Apex and Stryke pants, both of which sold out completely last year.

The Apex pants are low-profile, ultra-flexible pants with a mechanical stretch canvas construction that features a concealed-carry-ready comfort waistband, an internal flex cuff pocket and a hidden handcuff key pocket. They also have regular pockets made to hold what we really want put in them, from wallets and phones to pistol and rifle magazines.
The Stryke pants are move overtly-tactical with duty in mind, stitched from the same stretch fabric but with articulated knees and a gusseted crotch. Stryke pants run $74 where the more covert Apex series runs a little more, at $94.

Let’s face it, most guys like go bags — or perhaps we could call them tactical man purses? I was truly impressed with the 5.11 UCR Slingpack. Glad to see the reporters at GA while covering Shot Show 2016 include many new Items of interest to our modern growing enthusiast. I have seen this companies products arriving with the much younger crowed at many different venues. After looking at the design and materials incorporated into a carry bag or hat or now much more exposures I say they build with a keen level of perfection and intent. My Camo hat and satchel labels me very different in public, it will be nice to re-blend in. Give 5:11 a good Look-See in person and on the web they do have your back.
Why are most of the people wearing Yoga pants in public large? Those are the people that SHOULDN’T be wearing those pants in public!
