Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

IBI Deuce 2.0 rimfire action brings adjustable headspace, a full Remington 700 footprint, and competition-focused upgrades to Rimfire PRS shooters. That design focus stood out on the SHOT Show 2026 floor.

MSRP is $1,550.

International Barrels Inc., now operating as IBI Precision, built the Deuce 2.0 to compete. The result is a rimfire action aimed squarely at competitive shooters who want flexibility without custom-gun headaches.

A Full-Size Rimfire Action Built for Competition

IBI Precision has spent seven years building precision barrels in Canada, competing directly with names like Bartlein and Krieger. The Deuce 2.0 marks a deeper move into complete actions.

It uses a full-size Remington 700 footprint, which lets shooters drop it into most R700 stocks or chassis. The action accepts most Remington 700 triggers via a hanger system, simplifying removal and cleaning.

The three-lug bolt runs a 60-degree throw. It feels fast without feeling rushed. Controlled feed allows rounds to snap over the extractor when single-feeding, which helps during stages. A standard 20 MOA rail comes installed, and the action wears a nitride finish for corrosion resistance.

What’s New in the Deuce 2.0

IBI didn’t just reissue the original Deuce. The 2.0 cleans up several internal details. The bolt cam geometry changed to smooth bolt lift and closure. A heavier one-piece firing pin increases spring compression and aims for more consistent ignition. The firing pin now strikes from the bottom of the bolt face.

The extractor also grew. Large extractor claws can pull live rounds from tight chambers. Updated springs reduce drag inside the bolt body. The action comes in multiple finishes, including black nitride and tumbled stainless.

Barrel Nut Prefits and Adjustable Headspace

IBI offers barrels for a variety of different platforms.

The standout feature remains barrel nut-style prefit compatibility. Adjustable headspace lets shooters tune the rifle to specific ammo lots. Rim thickness varies, and this system lets shooters chase consistency without shims. The action still supports shouldered barrels, but the company sees prefits as the smarter play.

Factory Rifle Plans and Pricing

Newly teased MDT chassis that looks like a slightly modified ACC Elite

MDT developed a dedicated chassis so the Deuce 2.0 can qualify as a factory rifle in Rimfire PRS. The chassis shortens the forend slightly and uses a larger magwell to prevent accidental magazine release on barricades.

IBI expects complete rifles to land in late summer 2026. Mainly due to the availability of the newly teased MDT chassis. MSRP for the Deuce 2.0 action sits around $1,550, with barrels ranging from $600 to $800 depending on configuration.
