Intrepid NRA News reporter Ginny Simone is back with another video exposing how anti-gun lawmakers are attempting to chill the 2A rights of law-abiding citizens.
In the video above, Simone discusses Gavin Newsom’s pernicious plan to confiscate standard-capacity magazines capable of holding 10 or more rounds from California residents who, thanks to a grandfather clause, currently possess them lawfully.
Additionally, the Lt. governor’s plan would require background checks for all ammo purchases.

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, Calif., Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom has introduced a new ballot initiative known as the “Safety For All” Act, which would ramp up the state’s already stringent gun-control laws by confiscating “high-capacity” magazines of over 10 rounds and requiring background checks for ammunition purchases. The bill has met the firm opposition of the California State Sheriffs’ Association, who maintain that it would put peaceful citizens on the wrong side of the law without curbing violent crime. And helping to lead the charge is Sheriff John McMahon of San Bernardino County, who shared this firm and principled criticism of gun control as a measure against terrorism.
Why even sell guns in California. If all the gun makers put California on the do not sell list even to law enforcement then the state can secede from the union and go their merry way. Throw in the state of Mass. in on the list also just for good measures.
No guns for any one including the state issued body guards and law enforcement. Then the elected officials can run the state as a protected haven and any one heating guns can move to either state and enjoy a lotus dream world.
How come the idiots of California can not realize the people the people they are voting in are trying to destroy them???? All I have to say we can see how gun control worked in Paris during that mass shooting, so I guess the liberal’s plan is to smuggle more terrorist from ISIS capital of the world (Syria) change laws to disarm or reduce the fire power of the citizens. I think there is a planned foreign invasion in the future considering how strict gun laws are on the boarder states, except the lone star state, the Federal government tried to attack with Operations Fast and in Furious by violating our own country’s gun laws in the worst way
My wife and I are planning a 3 month camping trip through the Rockies this summer and we WILL NOT visit the left coast, Kalifornia, Oregon and Washington. I always take along the firearms that I may need, and that includes firearms that the serfs of these states are not allowed to possess. We instead spend our money in FREE states.
I live in Washington and grew up here. don’t put all of us all into the same category, not all of us are liberal Democrats destroying our state. the problem is that the west side of the state has a higher population than our side of the state. we have tried to separate so that we can have our own government and decide our own fate but we got out voted by shear numbers. we need more people like you and your wife coming to our states to show your support for us pro 2nd amendment, conservative west coast Americans
I am sorry if my logic offends you, but I think you and everyone who hates communisum needs to come to the more free states rather than create capitalism for the communist ones. Really everyone needs to stand up to change these progressive (socialist) laws that lead to communisum instead of growing a custom to it and destroy the wealth of the main stream media networks. They are one of the biggest threats to freedom.

I was stationed in California back in the 80s and I purchased two pistols then with no background checks. WOW, how much has changed since then. GLAD in moved out.

Mr. Newsom is going to accomplish this exactly how? Last time I checked there is no avenue for the California Lt. Governor to create, pass and enforce laws all by himself. Now, if Democrats in the state legislature decide they are going to go along with this absurd wet dream of Mr. Newsom’s then there is the problem for the law abiding citizens of this rapidly deteriorating socialist state. To that end I would only say “you reap what you sow”. The citizens of California continually vote to pack the state legislature, state house and all and various sundry offices with power hungry socialist Democrats (are there any other kind?). In so doing you only have yourselves to blame. As we say in the sunny South “Y’all have a nice day now, ya heah!”.
I am sorry to say alot of the votes are coming from immagrints wanting to live here and have their education, business loans and health care paid for by the tax payers. The other side of the liberal population are just idiots.
Ditto on what *hey* said. Illegals are promised and given everything under the sun here, including the right to vote, in order to WIN their votes. In addition, the liberal democratic strongholds of this state ( SF, LA and San Diego) comprise nearly 24 million of the state’s 39 million people. Even if you subtract the number of non-voters, those three cities alone have the majority voting bloc. Most of the votes of the rest of the state dont even count. I live in the the San Joaquin Valley, an area that stretches from Sacramento to just north of the LA Basin. It is an area comprised of part or all of eight largely pro-2A counties. The county I live in is the third largest in the state in area. But with all of that going for us, we still only have a population in that area of around 4 million. We dont have a chance in hel*. And the northern portion of the state, which has been trying to create its own independent state for years and been thwarted at every turn, fares no better because of its small counties and even sparser population.
So please, when speaking of us Californians, please dont lump us all together with those whose shear numbers override our votes. It isnt government of the people, by the people, and for the people in CA. It’s Majority wins!
