Antique, Black Powder Frame Colt SAA in good condition, some parts (may) have been refinished (bluing) however nothing that detracts from this handgun. Frame and Hammer case hardening still shows color. Some slight wear on blued finish on barrel. "Bulls eye" ejector Rod.
Matching S/N 16XXX on Frame, Trigger Guard & Back Strap, only last four digits of S/N stamped on inside face of Cylinder.
Date of Mfr: 1875. One piece walnut Grips; only one Patent Date stamped on Frame: "PAT. JULY 2. 1872 U.S."
A.P. Casey Inspector's stamp: "C" on barrel, Trigger Guard (below Serial Number), inside face of Cylinder and on bottom of one-piece Grips.
Not being offered for sale as being 100% authentic - if so, my asking price would be significantly higher. Advised back in 2006, upon inspection by Colt SAA Historian John A. Kopec , of several aspects that point to this fact. Still, it is an interesting piece of history that Mr. Kopec offered to purchase back then.
