Wards Western Field No. 43 .22LR 26" Barrel (likely Mossberg 43)

These particular Wards Wester Field, the No. 43, are very rare.

This model was made from 1937-38. The SN number on this is hand scratched, likely not the "official" number and hard to read in some places (ex. the first 0 also looks like a G. The writers 2's sometimes look like 1's.)

The "Mossberg" delecation stamp is not on this particular one so while it is likely the mossberg model 43 made by Montgomery Wards for Western Field, it isn't fully marked which happened with these rifles sometimes.

There is some cosmetic wear normal for an aged rifle. This includes 1 magazine, 5 round. Its a bolt action rifle in used condition.
