This delightful revolver is as-new-in-the-box and remains in excellent condition. The metal surfaces retain about 99% plus original factory royal blue finish showing a faint turn ring with light wear in the leads to the cylinder stop slots. The service trigger and target hammer retain full blue with a few minor operational marks on the bright sides of the hammer. The checkered walnut second type factory grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent. This Python has a serrated ramp front sight, Colt Accro adjustable rear sight and functions as good as the day it left Hartford. This wonderful gun includes the original factory two-piece wood grain box that is correctly end labeled and pencil numbered to the gun and a Colt “Handling the Handgun” pamphlet. The box rates near excellent with scattered light edge wear, a slight scuff on the end label that does not affect the print and the gold “COLT” on the cover remains strong. The “Handling the Handgun” rates excellent. A common version of the Python in uncommon condition.
