The Browning Maxus is a gas-operated, autoloading shotgun built around Browning’s Power Drive gas system for reduced recoil, faster bolt speed and reliable cycling across a wide range of loads. The design includes the Speed Lock forearm for quick takedown and the Lightning Trigger for a short lock time and crisp trigger pull. The Maxus family uses an interchangeable choke tube system and is offered in multiple field, sporting and waterfowl configurations.
The Maxus is delivered with a front sight bead and features user-adjustable stock fit (shims) and optional receiver drilling/cantilever bases on some models to accept scopes or optics. The factory safety is a button-style safety located at the rear of the trigger guard with a red warning band; the shotgun is also supplied with a magazine three-shot adaptor (plug) to meet migratory bird regulations and can be configured for greater magazine capacity by removing the adaptor as described in the owner’s manual.
