The Browning Maxus II Hunter is a gas-operated, autoloading 12 gauge shotgun built on the Maxus II platform. It uses a gas piston system with a magazine three-shot adaptor (TurnKey magazine plug) that limits or expands magazine capacity; with the adaptor removed the magazine holds four 2¾" shells (4+1). The barrels accept Browning Invector-style choke tubes (Invector-Plus) and are chrome-lined for durability.
The Hunter version pairs a satin-finish Turkish walnut stock and forearm with a satin/nickel-style receiver and a blued barrel (28" option). Sighting consists of a fiber-optic front and an ivory mid-bead; standard equipment on many Maxus II hunting models includes multiple Invector-Plus choke tubes and an ABS hard case. The design includes a cross-bolt safety and a tubular magazine with a screw-on magazine cap.
