The Winchester SXP Defender is a pump-action 12 gauge shotgun configured with an 18in barrel and a 3" chamber. It ships with a cylinder choke installed and uses the Invector-Plus choke system. The Defender features a matte hard chrome barrel and magazine tube paired with a black synthetic stock and textured gripping surfaces.
The shotgun has an alloy receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope bases, a rotary bolt with four locking lugs, a drop-out trigger group and a crossbolt safety. Sighting is via a traditional brass bead front sight (a removable TruGlo fiber-optic front sight is offered), and recoil is managed with Winchester's INFLEX recoil pad. Magazine capacity is listed as 5 rounds (total capacity 6 with one in the chamber for 2 3/4" shells).
