The Savage 42 Takedown is a rimfire–shotgun combination with a simple break-action design and a durable synthetic stock. The 42 Takedown breaks down with a one-button push for compact transport and includes a takedown carry bag. Barrels are matte-black and 20 inches long. The rifle features adjustable rifle sights (rear sight is removable to allow installation of a scope base) and two sling studs; the configuration is ambidextrous and built for survival, truck and camping use.
