The receiver, trigger guard, extra long tang, operating lever, forend latching hardware and decorative forearm insert have 100% coverage of magnificent, world class arabesque floral scroll engraving executed and signed by . This engraving, with it's dark background shading, is some of the finest ever done. The trigger guard features the gold inlaid initials 'MC'.
The straight English stock and beavertail forearm are of fabulously figured Circassian exibition walnut. The 'almost' maroon color of the background and the definition of the 'almost' black grain are truly outstanding. Full checkering on the butt, and wrap around checkering on the grip and forearm are highlighted by diamond patterned accents.
This work of art is part of a matched set that was custom manufactured for Marshall Field, the grandson of the famous retailer. The last photo shows the 20 gauge companion gun which is GA listing #2054. A buyer who wishes to purchase both guns in the set will receive the custom made, takedown, leather coach case shown in the photo at no extra charge.
