The Smith & Wesson Response is a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine built around a polymer upper and lower receiver and a 16.5in barrel with a black oxide finish. It ships with the FLEXMAG™ interchangeable magazine well adapters and is compatible with M&P double-stack and G17/G19 magazines; the shipped configuration is 23+1 as stated by the manufacturer.
The Response features a handguard with M-LOK® accessory slots and a picatinny-style rail, is optic-ready, and includes a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle with a thread protector. The rifle uses a polymer grip with four interchangeable palmswell adapters and an adjustable stock (length of pull). Manufacturer published unloaded and shipped weights are provided for reference.
