The Ruger 10/22 Takedown is a modular takedown variant of the long-running 10/22 rimfire platform that separates into two subassemblies for compact transport and storage. The takedown system provides repeatable lockup and is designed to return to zero when reassembled. The 10/22 Takedown family uses Ruger’s established blowback semi-auto action and accepts standard 10/22 rotary magazines.
Factory features for the 10/22 Takedown line include an aluminum investment-cast receiver with a heat-stabilized, glass-filled polymer trigger/stock housing, a positive push-button cross-bolt manual safety, and a combination scope base adapter for common rimfire mounts. Some takedown variants (including threaded-barrel models) use a cold-hammer-forged barrel with a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle and ship with a thread cap or protector.
The 21182 variant is a distributor/retailer-configured 10/22 Takedown equipped with a Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock and a stainless, threaded barrel (thread protector/cap supplied per the factory/retailer configuration).
