The KelTec SUB2000 is a folding, pistol-caliber semi-automatic carbine designed as a compact complement to a handgun. The SUB2000 features a 16.25in rifled barrel (standard), a blowback operating system and a push-bolt safety located behind the trigger on the grip assembly.
Built with a lightweight polymer receiver and an M-LOK / Picatinny-equipped forend depending on generation, the SUB2000 folds in half for compact storage and transport. The design accepts commonly available handgun magazines (magazine compatibility varies by model and magazine type) and lists an unloaded weight of approximately 4.25 lbs (no magazine).
The SUB2000 line has been offered in both 9mm Luger and .40 S&W chamberings and includes integrated Picatinny-style rails on the forend/stock area for accessory mounting. The model is marketed for compact/space-conscious use cases such as recreational range use and preparedness/survival situations.
