The Smith & Wesson Model 1854 Traditional Walnut is a lever-action rifle built around a forged 416 stainless-steel receiver with a 20in 410 stainless-steel barrel. This Traditional configuration pairs a satin walnut stock and forend with a black/Armornite-finished receiver and ships optic-ready via a Picatinny receiver rail.
Out of the box the rifle features an XS Sights® adjustable ghost-ring rear sight and a gold-bead front sight, a flat-faced trigger and a large-loop operating lever. The .45-70 Gov't variants use a 6+1 fixed tube magazine and include an 11/16-24 threaded muzzle (with thread protector) for muzzle devices. A cross-bolt manual safety and removable magazine tube are fitted for safe unloading and handling.
