Manufacturer Description
The Winchester XPR is a bolt-action hunting rifle family built for reliable field performance. The receiver is machined from solid steel bar stock and the barrel is button-rifled and free-floated; metal components are offered with Perma-Cote matte finishes. The action features a M.O.A. trigger system (zero take-up, zero creep, zero overtravel), a bolt-unlock button, a cocking indicator and Nickel Teflon® treatment on the bolt body for smoother operation and corrosion resistance.
The XPR uses a detachable single-stack polymer box magazine and the top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases (each base mounted with two 8-40 screws). Safety features include a two-position thumb safety. The owner’s manual also documents provisions and warnings for the use of muzzle brakes and suppressors with appropriate threading and devices for the rifle’s caliber.
