The Winchester Model 70 is Winchester’s flagship bolt-action rifle family, engineered for hunters and precision shooters. Modern Model 70 variants feature a forged steel receiver, a free-floating barrel and Winchester's M.O.A. trigger system for a crisp, consistent pull.
Many current Model 70 rifles use a pre-’64 style controlled-round-feed action with a claw extractor and include a three-position safety to allow unloading while on safe. Select synthetic-stock Model 70 variants (Ultimate / Ultimate Shadow) incorporate overmolded rubberized gripping surfaces and bedding to improve handling and repeatable accuracy.
The Model 70 line has been offered in multiple stock and finish options and is presented by Winchester as a long-standing hunting and precision-oriented bolt-action platform.
