The Winchester XPR Compact is a short-action bolt-action hunting rifle built on a through-hardened chromoly steel receiver with a button-rifled, free-floated chromoly steel barrel finished in Perma-Cote. Compact models use an advanced polymer stock with textured grip panels and an Inflex/Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and a shortened 13" length-of-pull for smaller shooters.
The action features Winchester's M.O.A. single-stage trigger system, a two-position thumb safety with bolt unlock button, a nickel-Teflon coated bolt body for smooth operation, and a detachable single-stack polymer box magazine (3-round capacity in short-action calibers). The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases and many XPR Compact rifles are sold as factory Scope Combo packages topped with a Vortex Crossfire II 3–9x40 scope and Weaver-style rings/bases.
