Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 30-60 caliber was manufactured in 1961, the first year Winchester manufactured this caliber. It qualifies as a Curio and Relic rifle. Produced by Winchester during the coveted pre-1964 production era, the Model 70 had already earned its reputation as the “Rifleman’s Rifle”. Introduced in the 1950's the Featherweight is famous for its slim, tapered barrel and lightweight design, making it easier to carry on long hunts while absorbing the reoil of a 30-06 well.
