The Winchester Model 70 Super Grade French Walnut is a premium bolt-action hunting rifle built on the Model 70 short action. Fitted with a Grade AAA French walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece and ebony fore-end cap, the rifle features a polished blued steel receiver and barrel, a free-floating barrel with recessed target crown, and Winchester's M.O.A. adjustable trigger for an ultra-crisp break. Built on a Pre-'64 style controlled round-feed action with a three-position safety and blade-type ejector, the rifle uses a hinged floorplate with an internal magazine (3-round capacity). Other factory features include a jeweled bolt body, knurled bolt handle, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, integral sling swivel studs, and a receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
