WW2 Russian 1891/59 Carbine Tula 7.62x54R 1943 #HP501
This version of the Mosin Nagant has been converted from a 91/30 and cut down to carbine length. These still have the longer rear sight of the 91/30 but the markings over 1000 meters have been ground off. Matching numbers on the receiver, bolt, and floor plate. Barrel is not counter-bored and the bore is assumed to be excellent, but full of cosmoline, so will need to be thoroughly cleaned prior to firing. Import marked.
This is a rare Mosin-Nagant 1891/59 carbine, re-arsenaled from full-length M91/30 rifles and manufactured at the historic Tula Arsenal. Chambered in 7.62x54R, this model combines the ruggedness of Soviet surplus rifles with the short, handy profile of a carbine. The Tula star and 1959 marking indicate this was part of a limited Cold War-era refurbishment. Metal finish and wood stock show typical field wear but remain in solid condition. A great collector’s rifle or shooter-grade carbine for historical enthusiasts.
