The Axis XP Compact is a shortened, lightweight variant of Savage’s Axis XP line sized for smaller-framed shooters. The Compact ships with a 20-inch button-rifled carbon steel barrel and a rugged synthetic (polymer) stock finished in matte black, and is offered in straight-walled calibers including .400 Legend.
This compact Axis XP is configured as a ready-to-shoot combo with a factory-mounted, boresighted 3-9x40mm scope and uses a detachable box magazine with a 4-round capacity. The family is marketed and specified by Savage for hunting use with an emphasis on approachable ergonomics for new shooters.
