The M77 Hawkeye African is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .375 Ruger with a 23in hammer-forged barrel and a satin blue finish. The African model is fitted with a slim, checkered American walnut stock and is supplied with Ruger patented scope rings that install on integral mounts. Features verified from factory material include Mauser-type controlled feeding with a powerful claw extractor, the smooth Ruger LC6 trigger, a 3-position safety, and a windage-adjustable shallow "V" rear sight paired with a large white bead front sight. The rifle was offered as part of Ruger’s M77 Hawkeye line and introduced by the manufacturer in 2006.
