The Remington 783 Compact is a short-action bolt-action hunting rifle in a matte black synthetic stock. This compact variant ships with a 20 in carbon steel barrel, Remington's user-adjustable CrossFire trigger and a SuperCell recoil pad.
The action is drilled and tapped for Weaver-style bases and many factory Compact packages include a 3-9x40mm scope. The rifle feeds from a detachable box magazine (4-round capacity) and is offered in a black synthetic finish for rugged field use.
