The Mossberg Patriot long-action bolt-action rifle in .30-06 Sprg is offered with a 22in fluted, free-floating, button-rifled barrel with a recessed match crown. It uses Mossberg’s twin-lug push-feed action with a spiral-fluted bolt and the user-adjustable LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger (adjustable 2–7 lbs). The rifle feeds from a polymer box magazine (five rounds) with the ability to load one in the chamber (5+1). Receiver-mounted Weaver-style scope bases are fitted from the factory with optional adjustable fiber-optic sights available on select long-action calibers.
The Patriot 27890 configuration features a classic walnut stock with stippled grip and forend surfaces and a ventilated rubber recoil pad, matte-blue metal finish, sling swivel studs, and standard weaver-style bases. Typical overall length and weight for the long-action Patriot models are approximately 42.75 in and 6.5–7.5 lbs respectively.
