The Beretta 92 Series is a full-size, semi-automatic pistol family chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and designed primarily for military and police use. The series features a short-recoil, falling-locking-block operating system, exposed hammer, and a staggered 15-round magazine for standard full-size models.
The 92 Series uses an integral blade front sight and a dovetailed notched rear sight with white inlays for fast target acquisition; competition/target conversion kits provide fully adjustable rear sights. The frame is a light alloy (anodized) design with checkered grip options, ambidextrous manual safety/decocking lever, and an automatic firing-pin safety.
