Here is a direct descendant of the Soviet manufactured model TT-30 steel frame Tokarev pistol; only this Zastava M70A is chambered in standard 9mm Luger caliber. Origins of this pistol was when the Soviets pirated John M. Browning’s 1903 design and modified and chambered the new pistol for their purposes. Several of this one’s ancestors saw action against the Nazi Army in World War II, and even against our soldiers in Vietnam. Crvena Zastava began manufacturing on Russian milling equipment shortly after World War II, when Yugoslavian Marshal Tito successfully courted the Soviets. As far as Specs, type is blowback single action semi-auto. Manufacturer is Zastava Arms of Kragujevac Serbia. Importer and service warrantor is Century Arms of Georgia, VT, and so marked on the right forward side of the slide. Caliber is 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Luger, 9x19mm, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Each pistol comes with two magazines, and capacity is 9 + 1 rounds. Barrel length is 4 1/2 inches; sights are blue steel dovetailed low partridge front with dovetailed steel rear; weight empty is 31 1/2 ounces with center of gravity at the magazine release; grips are classic Soviet style serrated polymer but with Crvena Zastava logo pattern.
