The Ruger SR1911 is a CNC-machined, 1911-type semi-automatic pistol family built on traditional M1911 fire control. Ruger lists the SR1911 lineup as available in Full-Size, Commander-Style, Target and Officer-Style variants and notes features such as positive barrel lock-up, an oversized ejection port and a visual inspection port for chamber checks. Standard SR1911 features documented by the manufacturer include a beavertail grip safety, an extended manual thumb safety, an integral plunger tube, skeletonized hammer and trigger, and two stainless steel magazines included from the factory. Ruger's SR1911 instruction material also describes dedicated Target variants with fully adjustable sights and standard/commander models with windage-adjustable rear sights.
