Here is a Sig Arms Mosquito, .22 LR Caliber pistol with 10 shot magazine, made exactly on the lines of its center fire siblings. Manufacturer is SIG Sauer GmbH of Eckernförde, Germany, or its subcontractor. Importer and warrantor is Sig Sauer of Exeter, N.H. Construction is steel inner barrel, hammer, breech face firing pin bushing, levers, and internal parts with alloy slide and magazine body; and polymer frame, trigger, grips, front sight, and magazine base plate. The Mosquito is blowback semi auto rimfire, traditional double and single action, and its safety consists of an ambidextrous hammer block. The safety lever does not decock the Mosquito, but it can be safely decocked by pulling the trigger with the safety engaged. The Mosquito also has a magazine safety and a keyed internal lock. It is furnished with one magazine. Factory Code is MOS-22-B. Frame is rail type, with a 3 slot Picatinny or Weaver size rail area built into its front section. Barrel is two piece steel, 3.9 inch, 1:16 six groove right hand rifling. Sights are stake on polymer front, with dovetailed steel and alloy windage only adjustable rear, in a green three dot configuration. Trigger is .375 smooth faced, and pulls in the 8 pound vicinity on single action with minimal felt creep. Overall length is 7 1/4 inches from the muzzle to the end of the grip frame strut; height is 5 1/4 inches from the top of the rear sight to the bottom of the magazine floorplate. Slide thickness is .935 at the port, with grip thickness of 1.23 inches. Weight empty is 24.7 ounces. Each mosquito comes in its factory case with instruction manual, factory registration papers, extra replacement front sight, and lock key.
