The Ruger Security-9 is a full-size, hammer-fired 9mm pistol built on Ruger’s Secure Action platform. It features a 4.0in blued, through-hardened alloy steel barrel and slide mated to a high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame with an integral accessory (Picatinny) rail.
Factory sights consist of a drift-adjustable rear and fixed front sight. The pistol ships with two alloy-steel magazines for a 15+1 capacity and incorporates multiple safeties including a bladed trigger safety and an external manual thumb safety. Unloaded weight is approximately 23.7 oz.
Introduced in 2017 as an affordable everyday-carry / self-defense pistol, the Security-9 family also emphasizes an easy-to-rack slide and an ergonomic textured grip frame for range use and general shooting recreation.
