The Ruger 57 is a glass-filled nylon-frame, hammer-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm. It ships with two 20-round steel magazines and features a through-hardened alloy steel slide with lightening cuts and a black-nitride alloy steel 4.94in barrel. Factory features include a windage-and-elevation adjustable rear sight and a rapid-acquisition fiber-optic front sight, a Picatinny-style accessory rail, a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, reversible magazine release, and a slide that is drilled and tapped for mounting optics with an optional adapter plate.
