The Ruger American Compact is a 9mm semi-automatic compact pistol built on a one-piece stainless steel chassis with a black nitride finished stainless slide and glass-filled nylon grip frame. The compact ships with Novak LoMount carry , a mil-standard Picatinny (1913) accessory rail, and Ruger’s modular wrap-around grip system with interchangeable small/medium/large grip modules.
This Manual Safety configuration features a 3.55in barrel and a 17+1 capacity (ships with a 17-round extended and a 12-round compact magazine). The design uses a pre-tensioned striker system and a recoil-reducing barrel cam to reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip; the pistol’s listed overall length and weight are consistent with compact Ruger American specifications.
