The Ruger MAX-9 is a micro-compact, magazine-fed 9mm Luger pistol designed for everyday concealed carry. This 4.00 in barrel variant ships with 12-round magazines (and a 10-round option) and is offered in configurations with or without an external manual thumb safety.
Constructed with an alloy steel slide and hammer-forged barrel over a precision-machined aluminum fire control housing and glass-reinforced nylon grip, the MAX-9 is striker-fired and autoloading. Factory features include a tritium/fiber-optic front sight, a loaded-chamber viewport, an integrated trigger safety, and E-Nickel Teflon® coated magazines. The MAX-9 is optic-ready for common on applicable versions.
Ruger offers multiple MAX-9 configurations (standard models with a manual safety and Pro models without), and the platform is marketed primarily as a compact carry firearm suitable for everyday defensive use.
