Seller Description
Here is a specimen of the much maligned, but actually pretty good quality, Rohm or RG Revolvers imported en masse from the 1950s on up until Mrs. Sarah Brady and her peers put RG Industries out of business in 1986 while the rest of us in this industry sat idle. Corporate genealogy of the Importers were first Eig Cutlery, then F.I.E. / Firearms Import and Export Company, and then an independent German Owned RG Industries in Miami. Many other distributors had their own names stamped on the RGs, notably FIE and Spesco. Manufacturer of these good solid revolvers was Rohm Gesontheim Germany, hence the corporate initials. This specimen’s serial number range is 653000, manufactured and imported in 1963 according to our records of its similar serialized mates that we bought from Mr. Saul and Mrs. Lois Eig in Miami when we used to go down with a long wheel base Chevrolet Pickup and haul a load of these back home here to Tennessippi. This particular revolver made its way up the East Coast to a respectable original owner in North Carolina, where it lay dormant until his grandchildren hauled it around acting like fools and got it confiscated. Surface wear is minimal to this RG-10, only faint amounts of edge whitening and occasional inconspicuous freckling to the blue steel surfaces of the barrel and cylinder. The principal detraction is that the ejector rod is missing; that piece only thread anchored into the hollow steel, pinned-in cylinder rod housing anyway, and most of these we see are missing their pin, which only acted as a poker-extractor anyway to push the empty .22 Short cases out of the cylinder through the loading port area one by one. Any .20 caliber or smaller rod will work to remove the empties. We rate this RG-10 as Very Good, close to excellent finishwise, since no more than 15 percent of its surfaces are affected. It is as Excellent mechanically as it ever was. Cylinder times correctly in all six positions, and the hammer stands correctly with no lateral play to the cylinder when the trigger is fully depressed. Barrel length is 2 1/2 inches. We’re offering this historic little cheap revolver, all German made, from 1963 for only $ 139.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Hawaii, or South Carolina. $10 lower 48; $30 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation.
