Glock's M 42 is the small-caliber, subcompact member of the M 17/19 pistol series, which first put polymer guns on the map. Glock's Safe Action system consists of 3 independent mechanical safeties, which are disengaged 1-by-1 when the trigger is pulled and reengaged when the trigger is released. Although the Glock 42 is basically a modern striker-fired semi auto, this pistol feels to the user much like a revolver with a short, light DAO (Double Action Only) pull that is consistent from the first to the last shot and spec'd at 5.5 lbs. The subcompact frame is polymer, which Glock pioneered, with undercut trigger guard, ehanced beavertail, and aggressive texture to enable a tight, high grip. The frame is topped with a steel slide, coated with Glocks's highly resistant matte-black Tenifer. Besides the trigger, the only other controls on the pistol are unobtrusive slide catch, take down, and-mag release levers. Condition of the pistol and all accessories is at least 99%, and no exterior finish mars are visible. The bore, chamber and action are clean and well-lubed. Although previously shot, use has been so low that the barrel is still free of the wear burnishing typical of Glocks because of their tight lock-up at the muzzle.
