FEG BROWNING HI-POWER CLONE

Up for auction is a great-looking Browning Hi-Power clone. This double stack, 9 mm, double-action/single-action, 13-round (plus 1 in the chamber) capacity, all steel pistol pays homage to one of the greatest designs of John Browning, his 1935 Hi-Power. The design for the Hi-Power was originally intended to enter the competition for the French army contract for an updated side arm. However, when the pistol was completed, the French declined awarding the contract to FN; however, a number of other countries immediately jumped on the opportunity to acquire one of the best pistols ever designed, and the Hi-Power was sold in great volume around the world for years. Used by a number of special forces, including the British SAS, until fairly recently, the design seems timeless. Although out of production now, the Hi-Power still retains all of its luster and desirability; on the used market, for example, they go for close to $1000. This FEG (Hungarian) model retains all the virtues of the original Hi-Power, and adds a DA/SA trigger instead of the original SA only. These are sturdy, well-made pistols, and in their own right would be an excellent full-size service pistol. This example appears nearly new, and I would rate it at about 95%.
