German P.08 Weimar Police Luger Pistol by Erfurt with Unit Markings

serial #7418p, 9mm, 4" barrel with a bright about excellent bore showing minor frosting. The metal surfaces retain about 70% original blue, the loss due to an overall toning to gray, especially on the straps with muzzle, sideplate and operational wear and the straw parts have been refreshed as well. The chamber is double dated 1918 and 1920 and has a tangent sight relief cut milled into its front edge from being converted from an artillery LP.08 pistol, to comply with the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. The toggle is marked Erfurt and all of the visibly numbered parts are matching including the grooved firing pin. The receiver, barrel and triggerguard are stamped with a Revisions-Commission "(crown)/RC". This police Luger is also equipped with a sear safety and evidence of a magazine safety which is no longer present. The checkered walnut grips rate about excellent with minor flattening and a few chipped points and they are stamp-numbered to the gun on their interior. Included is a single bright-bodied, aluminum-based magazine re-numbered "2157c" with a "+" and an "SE-655" acceptance stamp which rates very good plus, as cleaned with a small chip missing from the base. The frontstrap is double unit marked with an "S.C.I. 4.5" which is crossed out and an ".I.406." which was later added. {FFL or C&R, USA Only}
