Detonics Mark VI Professional Combatmaster

 Detonics Mark VI Professional Model Combatmaster Semi-Auto Pistol serial #CR11196, 45 ACP, 3 1/2” barrel with an excellent bore. The Combatmaster was the flag ship of the Detonics line and the Mark VI one of the premium models offered. The brainchild of Patrick Yates, they were the first successful commercially available subcompact Government Model style pistols, they were well manufactured and highly regarded in the law enforcement and personal defense communities. The stainless steel surfaces rate very good to excellent showing light scattered handling marks. The wrap around checkered rubber Pachmayr grips rate very good showing light wear, more moderate around the toe of the frontstrap. This gun has low profile Patridge front sight, windage adjustable rear sight, later added Swenson extended ambidextrous thumb safeties and appears to function mechanically. It includes a single factory marked six-round magazine with special slot cut in the floorplate to allow a small portion of the follower to protrude when fully loaded (necessary to allow a full six rounds to be loaded in this abbreviated magazine). It also includes the original Detonics marked soft gun case in excellent condition. This Seattle Washington marked gun has seen light honest use and remains a solid find for the collector.
