Colt National Match MK III .38 Special – 1961, 5" Barrel, 99% Blue

38 Special Wadcutter, 5” factory barrel with an excellent bore. This lovely MK III has seen minimal use since it left Colt in 1961 and includes several desirable accessories. The pistol retains about 99% original blue showing a few very light storage and handling marks on the slide. The fully checkered walnut factory grips feature gold Rampant Colt medallions and remain in excellent condition. The toe of the right panel shows a small defect in the wood that did not fully take the checkering with tiny chip on the front edge. This gun features a Patridge front sight, Elliason adjustable rear sight, long trigger with overtravel stop, grooved frontstrap, grooved flat mainspring housing, and the special concentric ring chamber used on the MK III version. This lovely gun includes an unnumbered factory two-piece “Gold Cup” National Match box, a single Colt marked five-round magazine, pamphlet style manual, and paperwork on the Elliason sight. The box rates excellent showing limited light wear on some of the edges and corners. It even includes the cardboard spacer with thumb safety cutout to keep it from moving in transport. A wonderful example of the Mid-Range National Match.
