The Colt Special Combat Government is a 1911-pattern, single-action pistol chambered in .45 ACP with a 5 in barrel and an overall length of 8.5 in. It ships with double-diamond rosewood grips, an extended ambidextrous thumb safety and an upswept grip safety.
Built and fitted for competition-style accuracy, the model features a skeletonized aluminum trigger, flared ejection port, throated feed ramp and Bomar rear / Heinie dovetail front sights. The Special Combat Government is offered in traditional Colt finishes (blue / satin nickel noted on production examples) and is a competition-ready configuration from Colt’s 1911 line.
