This is a United States Military Academy or USMA presentation pistol that could be purchased or presented to a graduating senior and brand new U.S. Army 2nd Lt. at West Point in 2009. That is the only way to get one. You cannot order this pistol from Colt. You have to be a West Point graduate from 2009 to get one. Every year is a different design, the West Point pistol team creates the design for that one year only, and then Colt makes the gun. And the 2009 version is a beauty! Deeply engraved and gold plated with the class motto and other unique insignia for 2009 only. It comes in the original walnut fitted presentation case. Sorry I do not have any history on this pistol.
