Colt 1911 Commemorative Matching Set WWII

Here is an extremely clean, unfired SET of MATCHING SERIAL NUMBER WWII Commemorative Nickel-Plated Colt 1911’s in serial number (1684ETO/1684PTO)produced in 1970. Neither have been fired outside of the factory. 1st: Serial Number 1684ETO, is the "European-African Middle Eastern Theater" pistol. It has absolutely beautiful birds-eye maple grips with the gold Colt medallions. The left side of the slide is engraved "North Atlantic, Tunisia, Sicily, Ploesti, Salterno, Anzio, Normandy, Bastogne, Remagen, Berlin”, with an oak-leaf motif around it. The right side is engraved, “World War II Commemorative Theater Of Operations”, with an oak-leaf motif around it. All markings/inscriptions on both sides are crisp, even and clear. 2nd: Serial number: 1684PTO, is the "Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations"pistol. It has gorgeous, beautifully grained grips that are a rich, dark wood with reddish accents with gold Colt medallions. The left side of slide is engraved "Pearl Harbor-Coral Sea-Corregidor-Guadalcanal-Tarawa-Saipan-Leyte Gulf-Iwo Jima-Okinawa-Tokyo" and has a feather motif around it. The right side of slide is engraved,“World War II Commemorative Pacific Theater of Operations” and has a feather motif around it. All markings on both sides are crisp, even and clear... There are no “light” areas within the engraving. My camera can’t pick up all the details as the engraving is very fine... Both a very conservative 98%+. The nickel finish is mirror-like with none of the small swirls often seen on nickel guns. The “flaws” that I can see look more like tiny factory finish flaws than any kind of handling mark.
